The
Tradio is a coin-operated radio that was designed to be used in
hotels, motels, clubs and other business establishments. The
Tradio's cabinet harkens back to a style that was common to radios
of the 1930s, especially the small arched peep hole dial.
Later an updated model of the Tradio was offered with a slide rule
dial. Today the Tradio L-U6 can be considered as one of the
more stylish coin operated radios to have been manufactured. I
purchased this set from an auction house just north east of
Noblesville, Indiana in January of 2004. Unfortunately, I'm
missing the coin mechanism in this set and if anybody happens to
have an extra mechanism to sell, please let me know. |
