The
Mike-Radio was developed in 1954 as a radio station promotional item to
be given away to businesses who purchase advertisement time. It was the
hopes of the radio station that this item would be prominently
displayed at the business for the public to see. This particular radio
was produced to promote radio station WIOU of Kokomo, Indiana. It's
basically a five tube AM radio with a semi-fixed tuner that was set at
the displayed frequency, though, it can be tuned to other frequencies.
